Tung Chung is one of the latest additions to Hong Kong's residential landscape. It was built in conjunction with new Hong Kong International Airport (Chek Lap Kok). It is actually difficult to believe that Tung Chung was a sleepy Chinese village ten years ago and is going to accommodate over 30K people in the near future. The town has excellent transport links with almost all parts of the territory by buses and MTR. One of the reasons to come to Tung Chung is to see its ancient fort dating back to Qing dynasty.
