The famous dunes of Sossusvlei are located near Sesriem Canyon. In order to get there, we had to negotiate 500 kilometers of gravel, desert roads. There are not many visitors here. Due to the remoteness and problems with accommodation the place is rarely visited. Half an hour later we reached the dry, flat depression, called Sossusvlei, surrounded by gigantic sand dunes. We were in the heart of Namib Desert. The contrast between the yellow bottom of the depression and the red dunes of different shapes made excellent conditions for photography.
