CUSCO

Cusco is the archeological capital of the Americas and the continent's oldest continuously inhabited city. It has also been the capital of the Inca Empire. Its is a wonderful place with atmosphere a little bit similar to my favourite Kathmandu in Nepal. It is worth to spend a few days strolling along ancient streets, visiting churches and monasteries, eating excellent food or hiking in surrounding hills dotted with ancient Inca ruins.

Like every town in Peru, Cusco also has its Plaza de Armas. The most prominent buildings n the square are the the church La Compania and the Cathedral.
